We are an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) responsible for managing council homes on behalf of Newcastle City Council.

We were set up in 2004 to manage council properties, to improve housing in order to meet the Government’s Decent Homes standard, and to provide a range of housing and support services for Newcastle City Council.

We currently manage around 29,000 tenanted and 1500 leasehold homes.

YHN is a large organisation with around 850 members of staff. Many of our staff work in housing management and support services positions but we also have people working in back office roles to ensure that the business runs smoothly.
