Annual Leave
All employees annual leave year commences from the month they were born in and receive 26 days annual leave minimum (this will be pro-rated according to your contract).

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

Occupational Health Services provide support to the Council on work related health issues to improve the long term health and wellbeing of staff. This includes providing counselling, physiotherapy, workplace inspections and advising on reasonable adjustments which can be made to assist people to remain at work.

Pension Scheme
If you have a contract for more than 3 months, you automatically join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). Contribution rates depend on your wages and are between 5.5 and 7.5% of your salary. When you retire your benefits can include an index linked retirement pension and a tax free lump sum. The scheme also provides for ill health and death benefits.

Hartlepool is full of award winning attractions such as the Hartlepool Historic Quay, the HMS Trincomalee and the Museum of Hartlepool. There are also loads of other places for you to visit such as St Hildas Church and Camerons Brewery.
Hartlepool Marina's is one of the most modern facilities in Europe . Featuring one of Europe's biggest boat hoists and attracting hundreds of vessels, the £60m Marina is one of Hartlepool's most alluring and relaxing locations.
The Historic Quay is a faithful reproduction of an 18th century seaport portraying the exciting experience of what life was like at the time of Nelson and Trafalgar.
HMS Trincomalee 1817 represents the pinnacle of the ship restorer's craft and visitors can now savour the unique atmosphere and experience of life on board the Classic British Frigate.
Hartlepool Maritime Experience is a superb re-creation of an 18th century seaport, telling the story of life at sea at the time of Nelson, Napoleon and the Battle of Trafalgar which dares you to experience life aboard a real British Naval frigate two centuries ago.
Hartlepool Art Gallery and Tourist Information Centre is located at Church Square , Hartlepool - within a minutes walk from Hartlepool Railway Station and close to Hartlepool Town Centre.
Meanwhile, Summerhill countryside park is another highly popular leisure destination, offering 100 acres of sports and recreation opportunities, which are being expanded and improved each year.
Equally popular is the seaside resort of Seaton Carew, which lies next to Hartlepool and offers several miles of golden sands.
With its good transport links and a direct rail link with London , Hartlepool has proved an attractive location for a wide range of firms and is also home to Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.
